About Me

My name is Leah Segedie and I'm also the Chief Mom of Bookieboo, fitness hangout for moms. I'm a stay-at-home mom of two boys with a busy schedule. After the birth of my first son in 2006, I lost over 100 lbs. and realized that fitness was the only way for me to keep my sanity in a world of diapers and temper tantrums. Fitness has been a great stress reliever, hobby and life saver. Earlier this year, I had another baby and am working off the remaining weight one pound at a time with hard work and dedication.

My background is in Communications. I have a Masters Degree from USC in Communication Management. Go Trojans! I also did my undergraduate degree there. I was on scholarship, because darn that school was expensive! I spent two years working for the California State Assembly and then another couple years as a fundraiser and then public relations manager in the corporate world. But when I became a mom, I found my passion.

I've had a new edition to the site recently. Welcome Editor Kelly Loubet of Childhood Clothing. Kelly is a children's clothing designer and mompreneur. With the economy down and her children's boutique closing, Kelly decided to make a go of it online. Working at home with her children, as opposed to bringing them to her boutique, has been so rewarding for her. She's able to do both the designing and writing with ease.

Kelly now runs her shop online at Childhood Clothing, where she also does product reviews and blogs. She's also a moderator for Bookieboo, where she runs the WAHM Networking and Marketing Strategies group. That group has loads of useful information for moms in business.
